Welcome to the new Northallerton Media Web. On this site you will find materials to support the new OCR A Level Media specification. The site is designed primarily for use by students at Northallerton College but in the original spirit of the internet all are welcome. Please feel free to use any material you wish but please mention us (or the person who wrote the item) when using it.

We have chosen to continue using OCR as our awarding body so will be following the GCE H140/H540 sepcification. If you would like to look at the full specification you can do so by clicking here or asking Mr Marshall or Mr Mannix to show you a copy.

If you decide to study this course you will need to buy one text book per year. The AS textbook is McDougall, Julian OCR Media Studies for AS, Hodder, London, 2008 (isbn 978-0-340-95898-8). For A2 you will need McDougall, Julian OCR Media Studies for A2, Hodder, London, 2009 (isbn 978-0340958711). This can be purchased from any good bookshop, Amazon.co.uk, or direct from the publisher.

As you follow the course you will be expected to look at the TASKS and complete each task prior to the week's lessons. You can also prepare for lessons by looking at the LESSONS link and reading about the topics to be studied.

As this site is very much a work in progress please feel free to contact us if there is something you would like to see on the website. We can't promise miracles but we can sometimes get close!

We hope that you find the site useful.

Mr I Marshall - Head of English and Media Faculty.

Mr M Mannix - Teacher of Media Studies.

==================================================

If you are searching for our old pages they are no longer available, but we still have the content and may be prepared to let you have it if you ask nicely.

Over the coming years we will endeavour to build the site using a mixture of old and new content (if I can get Mr Mannix to learn to write).

If you can't find what you are looking for try searching our site.
